Some of the best summer resorts have developed on the Black Sea including Golden Sands, Sunny Beach, St. Constantine & Helena, Sozopol and Nessebur.

"Ethno-tourism" and "architectural-cultural" tourism are becoming more popular in Bulgaria as it involves interaction with the indigenous populace in its small mountain hamlets. Borovets is the largest and a modern ski resort located on the Northern slopes of Rila Mountain amongst the ancient pine woods, at the foot of Mousala peak in Bulgaria. It is easy to reach Borovets as it is only about 70 kilometers from the capital of Bulgaria, Sofia. Pamporovo is also a well known international ski resort. It is a chic ski resort in the middle of the Rhodopi Mountain. It is the south most ski resort in Europe on the sunny mountain that has snow most parts of the year. Bansko is the new ski resort in Bulgaria, and has become very popular with foreign tourists. It presents an amalgamation of the natural ambience of the Pirin Mountains and quaint Bulgarian towns. 

The country has excellent weather conditions which has encouraged the availability of various vegetables, herbs and fruits. This ensures an exceptional diversity in Bulgarian cuisine. The country is well known for its rich salads and quality dairy products. There are several good hotels in Bulgaria to experience a wonderful stay in all budgets. Hotel Bulgaria, a 3 star hotel in the Old Town is a slightly expensive. It is built on the vibrant Ploshtad Stambolov and pedestrian mall, ul Knyaz Aleksander. Hotel Divesta is a contemporary hotel adjacent to the city centre. Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan is one of the 5 star hotels in the city centre. This historic Bulgarian hotel is located right in the heart of Sofia’s frenzied centre. Hotel Les Fleurs, a chic boutique hotel is also located in Sofia's main shopping street. 

April to mid-June or spring is the best time to visit Bulgaria. At this time the weather is excellent and the capital is bustling with different cultural events. Bulgaria’s main attraction for most of the foreign vacationers is its shimmering Black Sea Coast with golden and white beaches and scenic bays. But this attractive country has much more on offer which has not been explored especially by overseas tourists. There is a well maintained network of hiking and horse-riding trails which will help you discover the real Bulgaria, with its lush mountainous and wooded countryside. The region around Rila and Pirin Mountains is populated with lynx, bears, uncommon birds and other forms of wildlife which may not be seen in other parts of Europe. It is easy to go around Bulgaria with its affordable and competent public transport system.
